War Horse. Amazing.

Today I returned from the very fabulous, very busy, and VERY HOT New York City. There, I sweated through three shirts and all my jeans. Yummy. However, a MAJOR highlight of the experience was seeing the Tony-winning play War Horse. This story follows a young (Scottish? Irish? Well, anyway, the accent was brilliant) boy named Albert who acquired a horse named Joey just before World War 1. I wont give anything away, but Joey gets taken into the war as a riding horse and a wagon puller. The play follows Albert heart wrenching journey fighting in the war to find his beloved horse. This story is amazing, the acting was fantastic. However, the true amazing-ness of this show comes from the horses themselves. Now, of course, War Horse wouldn't have a REAL horse on stage and control it. This is were the puppets come in. However, not a simple muppet puppet, but rather a giant lives size horse -like structure controlled by three people. The movements are SOOO life-like that at times, you forget that this is not a real horse right in front of you!...they are so lifelike that my mother (on the aisle) decided it was a good idea to actually pet it as it exited through the aisle. Oh, Joey. Such a charmer. But seriously...If you are in New York and you have a chance to see War Horse, GO! It with LITERALLY leave you breathless.

Plus, Matt Doyle and Seth Numrich are in it...AND HOTTTTTTTTT.
(sidenote: Seth Numrich, who plays Albert, was th eyoungest person ever to be accepted into Julliard at the age of 16. Holy. Crap)

Hey! Didn't See You There!

I'm back....from my blog hiatus. When school finished, I went to a visual arts program at Boston University and learned a lot. I have been so swamped with college, portfolio, common app, and essay crap that I have to do so SOMEONE ELSE can MAYBE let me into their college. Annnnnd, after one day of new blogging, I am leaving for New York to see shows and that AMAZING Alexander McQueen exhibition lovingly blogged about back in May.

At this program, this song played OVER, and OVER in my head. It's called "Shoop" by Salt 'N Pepa. That's right, not "Salt and Pepper," but rather "Salt 'N Pepa." I enjoy it. And below is a video of Ellen (yes, Ellen DeGeneres) rapping in her "whitest" fashion this beloved song. LOVE! Here I go!

The amazing original below....filled with 90's goodness!
