Sisterhood of Traveling Pants...but for Art.

This is a project that me and my art friends are doing this summer. Every week, we will send a sketchbook to the other as we have our summer adventures. It was inspired by the link below, and I'm super jazzed for it. It's a really cool idea and it's gonna fun!!!!

Annnnnnnd, now I really want to see the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants again. A VERY GOOD MOVIE!

Look at this book! It's amazing.

Pippa for Life!!!!!!...oh right, and Kate.

So, as everyone in the world probably knows, the royal wedding was this morning.
I absolutely loved it. It seemed very genuine, especially in regards to the wedding vows.
It was all about not being selfish in the relationship, and being with each other. Simple, yet necessary for this crazayyyyyyy family. However, I DO think that William is by far the most "normal" of all the family...and I think this relationship with Kate with be one that lasts. They seem so down to earth and genuine.
Kate was GORGEOUS. Her dress was stunning. So classy and beautiful.
But poor Pippa.
So, Pippa, short for Phillippa, is Kate's sister and was her maid of honor. And she is the one who worked that hardest in this wedding ceremony. She carried Kate's train as she walked down the aisle. She had to get Kate's flowers....while Harry did nothing to help the couple.
AND ALSO, imagine being the guy that Pippa brings home to say that she wants to get married.
Now...that's some pressure. Your sister marries a prince...and you bring home an ordinary guy named Joe...awk. Plus, HER NAME IS PIPPA. Pippa. Pippa...c'mon.

Genius.

P.S. Kate's brother, John, is RATHER attractive. But, apparently he has a dodgy history. Dodgy? I'm becoming more British already.

P.P.S. The hats. Just. The hats.

This is Beatrice Ferguson. Awk. She sat behind the queen. Yet her grandmother, Sarah Ferguson, was not invited to the wedding. Confusing divorce stuff. Double awk...but even more awkward hat...just remember to flush when you're done.

That's the time I'm getting up tomorrow...to go  over my friend;s house to watch the royal wedding. I'm obssessed. Excited. and going to be EXTREMELY tired...and then there's school.

Red Eye.

You know how in photos with a flash, people with lighter eyes tend to have red eye? Well, it's allergy season...and therefore I now have red eye ALL THE TIME. My eyes have been so irritated lately that there is just a constant red hue to my eyes (and no, I am not high). Just imagine that throughout the month of May you are looking at me through a photograph....without red eye correction. Oh the joy....ah-choo. Sniff. Fun.

The Royal Wedding...on Dishes.

Well, I'll admit that I don't know much about it, but i am rather excited about the royal wedding. Of course, as we all know, Prince William is marrying Kate Middleton on Friday at noon (England time). I simply love that all the world is a buzz with wedding fever. There are William & Kate EVERYTHING! William and Kate pencil cases, William and Kate dishes, William and Kate bobble heads, William and Kate towels, and William and Kate cardboard cutouts. I mean, COME ON!!!! I love it.

I'm in love.

Annnnnnnd, my family and our friends are all watching the ceremony together....at 6:00 in the morning. We're obsessed...and I don't even know why!!!

Logs

The only thing we need logs for is to burn a fire....or build a log cabin. Logs are not needed in everyday life in the form of Logarithms. Just a very big and passionate idea.

The are the MIT Logarythms singing something. Enjoy...but not in math.

Electric Toothbrush Trouble

So, I found a brand new electric toothbrush in our family bathroom cabinet...so, I claimed it as my own. However, I had never brushed with one before. Are you supposed to brush normally, back and forth...or does it not work that way? Are you supposed to just move from tooth to tooth and let the vibrations do everything? Do you jump around and do the hokey-pokey? I just don't know.
And, it's not even one of those where the whole head of the toothbrush moves, but only little plastic "antennae" (I can't think of the right word), occasionally move up and down...to remove stuff in your gums...I assume. I don't know. Conundrum.

Earth Day...Where's the PR?

So, today was Earth day. I recycled. I used reusable water bottles. I was outside....for a couple minutes. I tried really hard to be earth friendly today. However, then I get of Facebook and I'm asking everyone how their Earth day was. And almost everyone said..."When was Earth Day?" I couldn't believe it. Does my generation just not recognize the turmoil that our Earth is in? I thought it was just my friends being ignorant...but then at dinner, I asked my Dad about his Earth Day. A big question formed over his head. It frustrated me. So, this led me to this question....WHERE'S THE EARTH'S PR? Where's that person that makes sure the celebrities are in the magazines and that they are still in the media. The Earth needs one. Forget Britney or Lindsay. Earth should be on the cover with the big caption, "Earth seen tumbling out of a bar at midnight," or "Earth: back in rehab." Apparently that's all people care about...

...speaking of which...did you hear that Lindsay is back in court? That girl. She needs to stay in rehab until she's completely sober...

But anyway, let's do something about the EARTH. However, even when there's a whole day dedicated to it...people don't notice the Earth.

Alas....

Krazay for Karmin.

Get over it.

C'mon, live four-part harmonies? Let's go!

I Don't Even Care.

Here's another Karmin cover. Get over it.

P.S. The original artist is Janelle Monae. She's purrrre genius.

Karma for Karmin

My absolute favorite singers were on Ellen today. Now, they aren't TECHNICALLY a professional group, but they are two people on Youtube that I fell in love with a couple months ago. Their name is Karmin and they are a singing and ALL instrument playing duo. Amy is the lead singer, and her now fiancee Nick is the piano player and back up singer essentially. And they live here in Boston! They both went to Berklee College of Music...so you know they are amazing! These two were on Ellen this morning, and nothing could have thrilled me more! They singing mainly covers of songs, but their originals are AMAZING! SO, on Ellen, they sang their most recent cover "Look at Me Now," by Chris Brown. Now, I watch all of their videos as it comes out, but I much admit that I was extrememly reluctant to watch this one. I mean, I don't like Chris Brown. But alas, I did, and GURRRRRLLLL I am so glad I did. Amy's rapping is FREAKIN' SICK! Even if you hate rap, you will love her, simply for her speed.  They are genius. BUt, now I'm thinking, "They are gonna be famous because they went on Ellen." But this is proof that I became obssessed with them BEFORE Ellen. Just sayin. A little pride there.

Amy, marry me. Oh wait. You're engaged.

On Ellen. Rehearsal. Trombone. Genius.

Enrique + Karmin + Snowman = Love.

Behind the Scenes Fun.

So, if you made it all the way to the end of this post. I'm proud of you. Annnnd, as you can see...I'm obsessed with Karmin...and CAPS LOCK!

Voices From No Where...

No, I'm not crazy, but I am transfixed by ventriloquist Jeff Dunham's amazing ability to speak through his puppet. He's simply hilarious, especially with my favorite character of his: Peanut. Peanut is like a monster/alien/I don't know what/completely hilarious. Love it. Watch:

Inspiration

I'm lacking inspiration. That's all. This is a giant problem for me.
As an artist, you're supposed to be able to let yourself go, and let your art convey what ever is on your mind.
However, what's on my mind is colleges and what they want to see. And know I'm all complexed.
I've been second guessing myself wondering if I can actually make it as an artist. I hope so, but as I've been Googling past applicants for art schools, boy oh boy, it doesn't look good. I'm actually petrified that what I'm doing is not good enough, or that I don't have enough artistic vision. I paint and draw people...but, it's just that. People. I don't feel that there is a mood there. Ugh. Identity crisis begins now.

Hallelujah!...but in a Food Court

So, you know Flashmobs? Those things that improv and hijinks groups do where it looks like random people come out of no where, in public places, and perform a dance or some prank. This one, I night say is a little more classy.  A hidden group among food court diners starts to belt out the Hallelujah Chorus. It's hilarious...AND AMAZING! Their voices are stunning.

Johnny and George

When you're sick, there is nothing more fitting to do that watch TV. However, when there's nothing on, there's always Youtube. Going from link, to link, to link. Genius. I stumbled across this one, and it actually made me laugh out loud. We all know Johnny Weir as the male figure skater who is the only person who "worked that tassel" at the Olympics. Also, did you know George Lopez had his own talk show? Do you even know who George Lopez is? Me neither. Anyway, this is a hilarious interview where Johnny talks about his new book, and how he knew he was gay when he was six...after watching Pretty Woman.
Hil. ar. ious.

And they swap clothes.

Haven't You Always?

I know we live in the twenty first century. I know. Revolutionary. But even though we have wireless phone, and hand-free phone, and phones that can make calls, play music, make toast and give you a pedicure, I have always wanted to see whether talking through two cans attached by a string actually works. That's right. I have absolutely no life...and this is what I wonder about. Well, Ellen thought it was a good idea:

It's really fun when...

...your throat is so sore that you can't talk....yet your parents forget this, and ask you to yell something down to them. Ignorance is bliss..or pain. Either or.

Fran Drescher = CNN?

We all know Fran Drescher as the sassy Nanny from Flushing, Queens on the hit sitcom "The Nanny." Her voice is so rhaspy (naturally), and HILARIOUS!!!! But her as the voice of Anderson Cooper 360? I think its a must...and Anderson Cooper's really hot.

Bored.

Have you ever had those days where you are SO bored that you can't think of anything do? I love to paint. I painted a picture...and I was bored the entire time. Got my haircut...bored. Did homework...still bored. Ate dinner...still bored. cured world hunger...bored for life. Alas.

Dance parties are fun...and not nerdy AT ALL when they are on Skype....jealous?

Sorry for the length. Short and sweet!

Singin' and Dancin' in the Rain.

A grand idea, no? A picturesque image: skipping around in the rain acting aloof, belting your heart out. However, after that freeing feeling, you realize, when inside, that you are in fact dripping wet, cold and feeling a tad stupid for doing that, for now you have to go and change all your clothes. Good in theory. Good in the moment. However, after the fact? Not so much.

Putting it Together...Company.

Have you ever listened to a musical...without knowing what the musical is about....and without any idea how the stories relate? Well, I did. With Stephen Sondheim "Company." I listen to the entire album all the time because 1) It's pure genius and 2) Raul Esparza in the revival cast rocks. And of course, I formed my own visions of what the story was like. BOY WAS I WRONG. Yesterday, I watched the revival cast performance on DVD, and I literally fell in love with it. But, I was completely wrong in my assumptions. It's funny when you hear a song in the show and you say out loud "Ahhhhh. That DOES make more sense than what I thought." But after viewing this show, it has become one of my favorites. Also, I love how the revival cast did this interpretation. The original show takes place in the 70s, and therefore is fitting because in one scene, the people are stoned and in another is a hippie-like scene about sexual experimentation. However, the revival cast brought it into modern times, where the whole cast wears suits and business attire. Genius. It shows how the ideas mentioned in this show are universal and not just ones to be associated with the 1970s. I personally think that Raul , after seeing this, is one of the best actors on Broadway. His ability to make his acting so natural and so comedic yet dramatic is astounding. LOVE HIM. LOVE COMPANY. SO MUCH.

Double Talk

Josh Groban...interviewing himself...horribly. Simply hilarious.

Prom.

It's essentially a party. That's all. A party were people spend hundreds of dollars on dresses they will wear once, pay for limousines that cost a fortune, and professional hair, makeup and photographers that are 1) unnecessary and 2) expensive. I think this WHOLE thing is unnessesary. But, hey, it's tradition. However, one thing that I am enjoying is how people are asking each other to go to prom. THere have been songs...many songs..., cute presentations, and romantic guestures that make you go AWWWW!! Adorable. Cute.

Can't you just imagine?
